How does MicroLaserPeel® work?
Sciton® describes MicroLaserPeel® as a “polishing” treatment that gets uniquely dramatic results for a nonsurgical procedure. It powerfully turns back the hands of time by precisely removing between four and 50 microns of skin at the surface (depending on the depth or intensity of treatment). To put this in perspective, a strand of human hair may be only 40 to 50 microns in thickness or diameter. This high degree of customization and unique design allows us to get transformative results while minimizing recovery and supporting a more positive and comfortable treatment experience than earlier-generation peels, lasers, and resurfacing techniques.

How does it feel?
MicroLaserPeel® is very tolerable with a topical numbing cream applied to the treatment area. The shallowest settings may not require any numbing at all. As intense energy is delivered to your trouble spots, you may feel a sensation of warmth or a feeling of elastic being lightly snapped against the skin. We tailor all aspects of treatment to your personal tolerance and the peel’s intensity, because your comfort is our priority.
What will my skin look and feel like afterward?
It’s not unusual to have mild redness and swelling that looks and feels similar to a sunburn after treatment. These effects can last for up to eight hours.
How do I care for my treated skin?
You will be provided with instructions specific to your needs and personal characteristics. In general, all patients should use gentle cleansers and moisturizers. These products protect the treated skin and support your comfort as you heal, and the skin naturally exfoliates. As with many treatments at our office, it’s important to avoid direct sunlight, as it can disrupt the healing process and undermine your results.
How many treatments will I need?
MicroLaserPeel® delivers noticeable results within a week after the first treatment. However, you may choose to have additional treatments depending on your needs, concerns, and goals. Depending on the depth and coverage area (as well as the health of your skin), our providers may perform MicroLaserPeel® as a series of up to three initial, 30- to 60-minute treatment sessions.
How long do the results last?
By encouraging cell growth and collagen remodeling, you may notice gradual improvements for up to six months following your first treatment. The MicroLaserPeel® may be performed every 6 to 8 weeks.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
